I need help finding a good source for + and - for my gages on my pillar pod. I want them to turn on when I turn the key. I didn't know if there is a fuse or some place were I can tap into a wire. It's 3 gauges and what ever I connect into I don't want to over load it.
Please help. Thank you.

You can tap into your cigarette lighter as your power source and just ground off your gauges on a bolt on the inside somewhere. I used the cigarette lighter as my 12v source and I used a bolt on the steering column to ground off on. You can also use a fuse tap (i think that's what its called) it has a fuse and a small wire on it so you can connect your power wire to it. Its pretty simple. Good luck

mine are wired in to the fuse box unde r the hood. and my ground is on the fuse box under the dash. my volts meter is hooked into my cigartte lighter. as far as a good ground. id say the fuse box is your answer the one under the dash that is. and for your power i would come off of the lights fuse in the fuse box under your hoood

I have mine wired into the radio harness, there's 2 good wires back there, along with a ground. One comes on with the key, the other comes on with your dash lights. I believe that the red one comes on with the key, and the orange one with the dash lights, but that's on my 1g. I only have my boost gauge's backlight on it right now, but it works great.

Honestly I wired mine straight to a fuse in the fuse box, forgot which one exactly but its right under the dash, and then just found a bolt on the frame and used that as a ground. That way if anything were to happen the fuse would stop it from doing any damage.

Anyone tried using a fuse tap into the taillight fuse to wire the gauges lights to turn on with the headlights? Debating that or a toggle switch for gauge illumination

I went off the fuse box. I just looked on the fuse cover for a spare circuit that had power come on with the key. Then I went and put a add a circuit in that spot and wired up my gauges.
