I’ve been using the v3 data logging cable on DSMLink v2.5 for years with no problems, even though ECMTuning says it doesn’t work.

Well now I’m trying to sell my ECU and v2.5 sans data logging cable because I still need it for my gvr4. Obviously people are chiming in saying it’s a useless buy, because it doesn’t come with the v2 cable.

I know I’m not the only one that’s used a v3 cable with v2.5. Can anyone chime in on this/have any insight to add?

V2 on 1G ECUs have a board that's installed in the ECU that is the proof of purchase. I've used a handbuilt 1G cable and the V3 cable with the 1G DSMLink equipped ECU because there is nothing special about the cable unlike the V2 2g cable.
