I was wondering if the fuel rail needs to be removed in order to replace the coilpack on a 2g? I located an article on this forum that explains how to replace the coilpack on a 2g, and in this article, the fuel rail was removed. However, looking at the coilpack, it appears that it might clear the fuel rail. Also, the service manual makes no mention of removing the fuel rail. Has anyone replaced their coilpack on a 2g without removing the fuel rail? Just curious.

It looks like the coilpack could be removed from the side (toward the driver's side) or from the front (toward the front of the engine). The only possible issue I see trying to remove it from the side is clearing the fuel pressure regulator.

Its 3 more bolts!!!

Trust me it makes taking it out a lot easire and putting it back in a breeze.

While you have it out carefuly take out the black fuel rail spacers and put some RTV on them and put them back in so the dont accidently fall out in the future when doing something in that area.
