2G Replacing Struts

Hey everyone im about to remove my struts and replace them. I have a 1998 GSX. what is that i need such as tools and are the steps to removing them. This is for the front only. any help is appreciated. Thanks.

A jack and jack stands, tool set, A spring compressor kit(Rent at autozone) Hammer. Its easy to do just get a chiltons or haynes book to help. Or put another post up.

Be very careful with the spring and the spring compressors. If it doesn't look right re-adjust and try again. You don't want one embedded in your chest

I know phunny posted it already, but I feel the need to emphasize the fact. Be very very careful with the spring compressor and the process.

I should have known better, but I had one from Harbor Freight and as I began to tighten it down, things felt unstable. Needless to say, I tossed that thing and waited an extra week to borrow one from my dad. Rent one or invest in a good quality unit.
