Replacing ECU

I need to get a new ecu for my car because was found to be bad, my question is someone told me i need to replace the ignition module/ignitor at the same time, is this true.

i was under the impression that you cant use a Fwd Ecu in a Awd Tsi

The only difference you will have using a fwd ecu is that most fwds have a 130-135 speed limiter , and awds dont.
