Well my positive wire connector of my battery wire is corroded a little and the ring doesn't seal very well on the post (every once in a while i have to tap it down to start the car). So i have a new connector ring, i'm just wondering how to get the old one off? I read that you are supposed to cut it but i don't know if my postive cable will be long enough to reach the battery then. Can i pry it off with something? Also how big of a crimp tool will i need to crimp the new connectors down?

Thanks

You can buy all different kinds of connectors from Sears. I know there's at least two on the shelf there that would work.

The easiest thing to do is to take the OEM on off of the battery, take the nut and bolt completely off, and cut off the "U" shaped connector while leaving the bolt hole where it's connected to the actual wire. Then simply bolt up a new connector to that.
