I bought a set of evo 9 rods (35K on them) for my 2g 7 bolt that will be pushing ~350 whp and Im thinking of replacing the stock studs with new oem ones. My questions are:

-Should I?

-What is the process of taking the old ones off and installing the new ones? By hitting the tip with a hammer and forcing them out and then hitting the head to force them in?

-Will anything need to be sent out to the machine shop? line honing? (Im really trying to avoid this)

Thanks!

Other guys might want to chime in, but i don't think you'd want to replace the studs.

Run the rods how they are with properly sized rod bearings and you'll easily be fine at those power levels.

Hmmm I figured that as well.

I just want ppl's opinions and experiences when they encountered this point in their build.
