Replaced tps now I have a new problem please help

I recently bought a 98 spider gst and it was having issues while driving would only go up to 4K rpm and then eventually it wouldn't even do that it just died basically so a friend and I replaced the tps on it and it starts not rough idles and won't rev above 2k rpm. I have no clue what it could be we triple checked the firing order, replaced the spark plugs, but it's still giving me issues can anyone help?

You have to adjust the TPS properly. Easiest way to do this would be with a logger or DSMLink. Manually doing it would be this way:

You say your car wouldn't go past a certain RPM before replacing the TPS. Is there a reason why you thought the TPS was the problem to begin with?

The reason I thought it was the tps originally is because after a while the throttle wasn't even keeping the car alive

That could be numerous problems. Did you scan for codes?

No I don't have a scanner, the state of Hawaii won't let auto parts stores scan either, but as soon as we put the new tps on the service engine light turned off

To manually check it you'll need a volt/ohm meter. I recently had a code for isc, I changed my spark plug wires and the code went away so I think maybe codes expire sometimes without proving that the replaced part was the problem. You do need to check for boost/vacuum leaks with a boost leak tester and compressed air w/soapy water. A high percentage of the time problems like your car is having are related to that.
