replaced clutch, no 5th gear

so i just replaced my clutch on my 92 awd.... im checking the shifter and it wont go into 5th...where should i look first

Have you adjusted it inside the car

ok i found the problem.. it was the reverse switch.. but thanks for the input

Will it still go into reverse? When I did my clutch, I removed the reverse switch and when I put it back in, I forgot to put the metal washer back in. Without the washer, you lose 5th/rev.

yea i ended up putting a washer on it

Just a washer or the correct OEM part? The OEM washer is designed to be just the right height and it's also a seal. I wouldn't throw just anything on there. It's fine if you need to drive it because it's your only car but I would get the correct part ASAP. It's only a few dollars at the dealership.

always nice to keep spare parts around let me tell you I have boxes of stuff just in case something breaks .

yea i bought two 1g donor cars in the same month and stripped them down, bagged,tagged, and boxed up...and now i have parts for days

Cool cause when the apocalypse comes, I still wanna drive my 1g. I can handle zombies, but it sucks not having boost .
