I just replaced my 16g in my talon. The seals went bad in my turbo and covered everything in oil. I took everything off and cleaned it with parts cleaner. i put my stock turbo back on my car to break in my motor. After I cleaned everything I replaced the plugs and car runs great but smokes alot when driving it. There is not coolant in the oil. I let my car run for about 2 hours at idle and car still smokes. When the turbo went bad there was oil in all four cylinders and on the old plugs.Any info would be great.

When I put my new motor in my car the didn't smoke, the motor has only 104 miles on it then the turbo went bad. I thought that myself might be a valve stem problem, also did a compression test on the car and the piston where all about the same across the board. Thanks for the info.

Well usually when a turbo goes bad and you replace it, it will still smoke for a little while after the new turbo is in. This happens because when your old one went bad, there is a chance that oil may have been leaking inside your engine which when your engine is running is burning. I had a situation similar to this with my old talon. How many miles have you driven the car with the new turbo on?

only driven the car for about 2 miles smokes really bad.i just don't want to get pulled over for something like that, i let it idle for 2 hours and still smokes

Thanks for the info. I will let you know if that works.

As was mentioned previously, clean EVERYTHING in your intake tract! When my 14b blew and I was taking everything apart, of course there was oil all in the intercooler and piping, but by FAR the worst was in the intake manifold! The intake manifold had about a 1 1/2 to 2mm black "sludge" coating the entire inside! I had to have it hot-tanked to clean it out! That sludge induced knock and made the car smoke like a sonofabitch so check that out as well!

I had a 14b go out just last week, the nut came off the compressor and both blades went in oposite directions. I had more oil in the exhaust then anything, Oil was dripping from my tailpipes it was so bad. So if your muffler and exhaust has oil in it you will have to drop the exhaust and clean it, or run it and burn it out. It took me a hour of free reving and antilag boosting to burn it out in my case. It smoked so bad I thought the fire department was going show up.

Thanks for the info. I am going to do that this weekend.

At this point with this car I am ready to use a gallon of gas and book of matches to solve my problem. LOL

Clean the ic as stated and drive around for a while to give the oil in the exhaust a chance to burn off. Expect it to take several miles/days for the smoking to subside because the exhaust doesnt get hot enough to burn out the oil immediately. Or you can remove the exhaust and clean it. And I have seen several catalytic converters go bad/melt due to all of the oil being in the exhaust.

I cleaned out my intercooler. There was no oil in my intercooler. I can't figure out was is wrong with my car it runs great but just smokes alot. There is no coolant in the oil. When i took my old plugs out of my motor there was oil on spark plugs 2,4. I know my car is going to burn a little oil because my motor doesn't have more than a 100 miles on it. When I first started my motor it didn't smoke. This is the same head that was on my other motor and didn't smoke. I did a compression test and it was all in with in spec. I talked to a few people and they think it might be my valve guide seals ,but I thought if valve guides seals go bad they will stop smoking after the car is warm. I am open to any suggestions at this point. Thanks for all the help.

I really didn't drive my car but I let it idle for a couple of hours for a couple of days. You really can't drive the car because when you give the car gas it is a fog coming out of my exhuast, if you drove into it you couldn't see. I really don't want the cops to pull me over. Thats how much smoke is coming out of my car. I talked to a few other people they said it might be in the head b/c there was no oil in my intercooler,tb, or intake manifold. Thanks again.

long idle timeson a fresh engine is one of the worst things you can do, you want constant load on the rings both inacceleration and deceleration.. forget idling, if your car is overall in OK shape as far as the tune and mechanical parts, get out ther and put another hundred miles on it and see if the smolke is gone by then.. Idling besides bad for the engine isn't going to get neough heat down the exahust to burn off what' more than 2 feet fromthe bottom of the down pipe.

Get out there and put some useon the thing/.. Also can you get a video? I'd like to see how bad the smoke is.. Some people will freak over the smoke during break in (which a light smoke is sometimes normal and can last 500 miles of break in befopre everything seats)

But i'd like to see how much is coming out to judge better, as well as seeing how much comes out after at LEAST a 30 mile run under loads, or at least at 70MPH insterstate speeds where the engine is about 3500RPM or so for a constant period of time.

Sounds like the coolant is just trickling into the cylinders , head gasket , is gone but not enough to mix in the oil..
