Repalce bearings in 50 trim myself?

Im curious if I could replace the bearings in my 50-trim myself? I have a M50 turbo, (like a fp green kinda) mitsu 20g compressor housing with 50 trim wheel and mitsu 7cm exhaust housing.

I have the IN-OUT shaftplay. The turbo works flawlessly besides the shaftplay, but im unsure as how much longer it will last. the seals are fine. So, can I fix this myself? Or can you recommend a place to get this fixed and how much it will cost?

Also can a swap in some dual Ball bearings while im at it? I just dont know what/how to get this stuff. I;ve never taken a turbo apart before.

No go on the ball bearings man. You can however buy a new center section that is ball bearing for around 630.00. If you have never taken a turbo apart before, I suggest taking it somewhere. You are going to want it balanced afterward anyway. Check with Forced Performance on a rebuild. They may be a bit pricey compared to others, but why gamble with one of the most critical parts of your car and you know you can trust FP.

anyone can replace the bearings....getting it balanced is the key to having a turbo last longer than a 1000 miles
