Is it worth it? I'm pretty sure you loose fuel mileage and it doesnt help with performance at all....other than clean up engine.

Is this correct what I'm thinking? I've talked with some mustang & mr2 guys about this and they said they aren't going to do it for those reasons listed above.

There's no real performance gain from it, engine bay will look a bit cleaner and less messy. The car will be emitting more pollution thou...

go for it if youve got way to much time on your hands or can get to really easy while your doing something else, thats my opinion, i did it when i had the tranny out of the car, my mpg hasnt dropped enough for me to notice it or maybe it didnt drop at all. Read that post and you should be able to decide for yourself if you wanna do it or not.:thumb:

EGR is exactly the same thing. EGR does not operate under WOT and were not really concerned with part throttle HP. When is the last time you saw somebody dyno their car at 50% throttle and report the HP? Never because nobody cares. The EGR brings down your EGT during normal driving and also increases your gas mileage. EGR is after your throttle body so it does not contribute to your throttle body being dirty, that is the PCV going back into your intake that does that. When were driving normally good gas mileage is a nice thing. Also why are we concerned with having the inside of our intake manifolds clean? Are you being judged at a show on it? What is left is just carbon and it does not effect the performance of your car one little bit.

thanks. i would like my bay cleaner, but can't have less gas mileage. although i mainly just drive around town, 5-10miles tops unless i hit up Ft. COllins or Denver on the weekends....

taking out the egr or blocking it using that pointlessly expensive kit is dumb. there is no performance gain, only a slight mileage drop. i speak from experience, mine's broken :) forget about it

Yes, I guess its just the issue of Engine Cleanliness vs. A few more miles in gas. Hmm....what to do what to do. I dont care about around town....a few miles isn't bad. However, traveling to Ft. Collins or Denver on the highway.... 75mph I wonder it its a loss even more.
