The codes are generally due to a solenoid issue, not mechanical. You'll have to fix/replace the solenoid or tune the CEL out if that's the case.

Take the canister out. It's connected to some metal hose on the firewall. You'll have to cap this metal hose.

If you unplugged the solenoids without un checking the CEL check box in ECMlink then you will receive a code.

Yes, you can remove the solenoids from the fire wall. As mentioned already, you need to un check the box that I circled above for you otherwise you will throw a CEL. If you removed your rear o2 sensor or cat. converter then un check "cat efficiency/O2" as well.

That's great for not throwing cel codes but what about when its time to get your state inspection? Will their inspection equipment show that its not ready and fail you?

That's going to be your decisions for inspection. The EPA has a document out stating that our vehicle only needs to show a MIL light, not go into readiness state.

Removing your solenoids and EGR can be an automatic fail for visual inspection as well so keep that in consideration.

If I do decide to remove the charcoal canister which one do I leave and or plug them all
