Well I am installing a sony amp with a jensen head unit and everything is wired and has power but no sound from the subs. I mean when I test them they work but no music from the radio. So I am thinking that it is the remote wire because I hooked it up using the only wire left over but then read in the manual that the wire I used is for the power antenna. So if anyone knows what color the remote wire is it would help alot. Thanks Winter

you used the right wire it should be either blue oe blue with a white stripe make sure that the rca outputs on the radio are good these usually go bad

A way to know without ripping things apart, turn on your head unit and look at the amp, is the power light on? If not, there's your issues. Try bridging the 12v to the remote wire, it should turn on and problem somewhat solved. Then you can figure out if you have it wired up right, or if its really the deck thats damaged.

Your install might be just fine, but double check following what InfiniteGSX described.

Some decks, rare I believe, only have 1 remote wire, this seems to be your case. Antenna and amp turn on both happen to be blue in several cases. If this is your situation, then I believe your install is right. If you do InfiniteGSX's check and you see your sub amp is turning on, then thats not the problem.

Check your deck settings, some decks will not have the sub output (assuming you have seperate ones) enabled without turning it on. Also check the settings on the amp, wiring from the amp to sub, etc. Check the little things.

Yeah I have power to the amp, like I said I can test the subs and the power light is on its just I am not getting any music out of them. The reason why I said its the remote wire is because I am not getting any music. Any other suggestions because I do not want to pay someone if I dont have to. Thanks Winter

Ok, there are two sources of power for the Amp, the Remote and the 12V. 12V is constant. The switch is the Remote, The remote switch is the only thing that will turn the power light/led on. So if you turn on the radio and the amp turns on, then it isn't your remote wire. Its either the RCA Cables (highly doubtful), or the RCA Outputs on the stereo itself.

Also what Red says is correct, on stereo's that have actual sub rca outputs, most likely have a switch on the menu settings for the sub. And you have to go in and switch sub to ON. IF its a High end deck, it will have its own remote wire for this and when you switch the sub on in the menu, thats when the remote wire will get voltage.
