Remote wire? [Merged 6-7] amp head unit infinity

It's the blue one. And yes, get a harness adapter which connects to the radio's wiring and leaves the car's harness intact. ANY stereo shop will have them, and most Wal*Marts do.

One day, randomly my amp stopped getting power. I didnt do the install so took it in to see how much help I could get for free. After testing for power in places and checking fuses, he found that my remote turn on wasnt sending power. So, he told me to splice it into my switched wire. I did this and it blew my 10amp radio fuse. He said to replace it with a 15amp fuse and try again, which I did and it still blew the fuse. Now, I cant get any more help without letting them troubleshoot it, and paying. So, does anyone have any more suggestions? I am not too familiar with the stereo world.

Crap, wrong section. I couldnt find the other section before! Can someone move this!!!!!????

Sounds like you have a short in your remote turn on wire. You're blowing fuses because the wire is grounding out somewhere along the wire itself, at the amp or even worse, inside the amp. I say just run a wire through the car from your radio to the back and see if it does the same thing. Just run it over your seats right down the middle of the car. make sure you keep a 10amp fuse behind the radio and don't go much higher. Your more than able to turn an amp on from the switched wire without changing to a bigger fuse.

Just try jumping the amps power and remote. If it turns on, you know the amp and power cable are good. Then work back through the remote circuit.

And put a 10A back in. Fuses are safety equipment, dont try to circumvent them by putting larger than called for in.

Does this look like the light blue wire we are supposed to tap to the factory head unit? The professionals that did my install tapped this red wire and the amp is on even when the car is off.

just tap into the red power wire to the head unit, does the same thing, the remote turn on wire just needs a 12v signal to power the amp.
