You acn also buy the newer remote start for manual transmission. My squad leader has one you push a button before you get out then take key out the engine stays one til you open the door then close and look it so theres no way you can leave it in gear lil more work but safe.
Wire it into the e-brake where it won't start unless it is on.
I have one for my Jeep with a manual transmission. Pick one out with an arming protocol for manual transmissions because it will occasionally go off in your pocket and you would hate to have it go through someone's wall when you start leaving it in gear in the summer.
Mine wasn't any more expensive but it did take just a little bit more work to install. Basically the arming procedure requires that your e-brake be set and you aren't touching the brake then you hold the button for a second and take the key out, at this point the engine stays on and you get out. When the door sensors show the door opening and closing then the car shuts off and that way you can't accidentally leave it in gear and start it remotely.
