someone enlighten me on who to get tcu from,i've already gotton one it lasted two weeks at shifting very hard, and now it's failed i hpoe this guy backs it up at about 228. i'll give name later if he doesen't come through for me. my sensors and shift sol's test fine i'm not dump when it comes to testing this stuff. SOMEONE PLEASE RECOMMEND SOMEONE FOR ME!!!!!!
ILL DEAL WITH THIS BOZO LATER THANKS JUNO

A stock 2G turbo TCU? $228 is pretty steep. But they also do not go bad very ofter at all. I'd look into it some more. I had some before that I couldn't get rid of for $75. I started to just leave them in the cars that I was parting out. FWD amd AWD ones have a different part number, so it could be possible that he sent you the wrong one.

This Part number: MD750092 is a TCU from a 1g dsm turbo automatic AWD, the FWD version is MD750093, i know this because that's what's in my car :thumb:

I don't think 1g turbo TCU's and 2g turbo TCU's are compatible.......

someone correct me if I'm wrong.........

No they are definitely not compatible. 1G ones work more with the engine ECU and 2nd gen one solely work pretty much more independently. Such as a automatic 1G guy cannot use a manual guy's ECU. On the 2G's the ECU's are interchangeable. A lot less confusing. You can put any turbo ECU 2G into any 2G car. Of course if you put a 95-96 into a 97-99 or vice versa you need to swap the plug wires from 2 and 3 and put them where 1 and 4 go. And that is only because the CAS is different. TCU's rarely go bad though. On 2G's that is. Not sure about 1G's.

TCU's rarely go bad?????? Wrong! :barf: Ask all the guys here that have LIMP MODE due to their failing TCU's including myself. :barf:

Secondly, 1g TCU's and 1g ECU's do not communicate with each other at all........ :thumb:

Thirdly, 1g Automatics CAN use 1g Manual ECU's..........whether if they are FWD or AWD, except for 1g 90's, their ECU is not compatible with 91-94 1g's. The must be hacked with a little.

All these things apply to 1g turbos only ..........not non-turbos

please help me find a good place to buy tcu. i put my trust in you guys and gals. my 91 awd has been down about 1 mo. again, thanks ':confused:JUNO'

Find out if the car has a two or three plug TCU in it first... That will narrow your search down.

If you have a 2 plug TCU, then I have a spare that I'm not using at the moment. -PM me for more info, provided that you need a 2 plug TCU.

Good Luck

i need a tcu ( a md750092 to be exact ) i have looked on ebay and on a couple of site including this one and i can't seem to find one ...
