i would also like to know if you painted over the talon letters. and also, what kinda prep did you do to the lights?

He more than likely used tape to cover over the TALON on the rear, its not that hard. :D

Looks good, I've been thinking about doing that soon, Im just lazy.

He probaly didn't. Most people just put a little bit of tape over the reverse lights and then sray over everything. Its a paint that lets light through and doesnt cover up the letters much.

I need to do that too,,,looks good

Actually the only masking I did was to the back-up lights, and to the black section of the center panel where the license frame goes.

I didn't do any prep work before hand other then getting a damp rag and wiping the lights clean of finger prints, dirt, etc. I tested the paint on my amber side markers to see if it would adhere smoothly without some kind of primer and it did.

I also did mine awhile ago, I used this annodized paint I got from advanced auto. I didnt even hafto sand the tails, I just wiped them down a bit with an sos thing and sprayed lights coats. It makes the car look alot cleaner.

i bought the exact same paint that you got at this hobby shop. the lady there said it wouldnt stick on the outside of the light and was going on with how i should paint the inside of it... who knows...

well im in the process of doing it right now... just waiting for it to dry. im having problems of getting to wet of spots on it and it not matching with the rest, maybe when those dry itll look fine.

Make sure you keep a good distance from the surface so that it comes out even and doesn't overspray on one area.

ya when it dried it looks fine. does your chip or scratch off easily now? thats what im worried about. i need to get some clear coat for it now.

well I washed my car just today, the paint doesn't seem to be affected by it. I wouldn't be too worried about it getting chipped since it's on the back of the car, it won't be seeing many rocks.

when i prepped mine, i washed them with dish soap and then took a 1000 grit paper to them and then washed them off again. mine look just like his, but im going to go get clear coat right now to put a gloss coat to them and to protect it somewhat.

Post when done please.
I'd love to see them with a nice gloss coat.

alrite i just got back with the paint, the stuff i got was dupli color laquer paint (clear) so i hope that does the trick. ive only applied one coat so its hard to tell what its gonna do after a few coats and dry. ill try to get pictures of it and post them however

Is the paint you first put on enamel or not? Puting laquer over enamel doesn't work well in my experince,,wondering how yours are turning out. love to see pics

the paint was the same stuff the guy in the first post had. it said polycarbonate only, so i dont know, it seems to be working fine tho.
