yeah - its a mechanical death trap. x2 on tubes. The seal on the glass to the hole in the roof is supposed to prevent this, and the tubes should drain when the seal fails.Maybe the drain tubes are clogged? Mine were really bad I had to blow them out with air. I hate messing with the sunroof. I can't even open mine without it giving me fits.

So I used an oscillating tool, with windshield removal blades and scrapersBro tell me how you got those rear quarters out?!? Mines half way out but I can't seem to get the back side out. I have everything to get them out. Its been fighting me so i gave up for awhile. I'm sorry to see all that rust, I never thought I'd see that on a Florida car. That will definitely leave water in the car.
, born in Jacksonville I grew up in Orange Park, been in Wyoming since 2005 and I love it here, low humidity
, I’m sorry about the rust, you’ve got a good lookin 2g there, in regards to your leaky sunroof that’s the #1 reason I’m thankful my 1g doesn’t have one
, anyways man good luck with your project! These cars are definitely a LOVE/HATE relationship but I think they’re timeless, you really never see them on the road anymore, I wish you the best with yours and keep wrenchin’
I can confirm tonight for you if you haven't already figured it out. I just used a caliper to measure but I can't seem to remember what it was at the moment. Can anyone confirm if they know the gauge of metal the body panels use ?!
I know it’s not 16 that was for structural, like the seat mount brackets.
I hate rust so if there's anything a guy needs just let me know.Thank you kindlyHey man I see your from Florida! I’m a native Floridiot myself, born in Jacksonville I grew up in Orange Park, been in Wyoming since 2005 and I love it here, low humidity

Same it’s just a lill hard to check with so many layers of sheet metal joined in tight lill corners , all of the stores have 16,22,26 and 30 gauge.I can confirm tonight for you if you haven't already figured it out. I just used a caliper to measure but I can't seem to remember what it was at the moment.
ThanksMan your really dialed in. I need to invest in a sandblaster asap holy that looks good. Those mega Jack's also look like something I need. Your giving me some great ideas to make my project easier.
As for the por15, I painted all under my gsx with that stuff and it stops the rust. You just brush it on any surface rust that you want covered. It's super messy and dries out fast so make sure to clean the lid otherwise it becomes one with the can. Also make sure you clean the surface from any grease or oil because if you don't the por15 will straight up peal off like a sheet of plastic.
Dang it just keeps growing. Keep up the awesome work. It's crazy to think a Florida car could end up like that, I thought only northern cars did that.
I'm currently in the middle of cutting my car in half and welding up the other one. I'm over rust and damage. Might as well just chop it instead of trying to puzzle piece it all together, lots of puzzle pieces too.
yeah I know the struggle, I very strongly suspect this could stem from the quarter glass, I can see the water stains that come from the quarter glass that pour down to the rockers I’m working on, the rust maybe isn’t ALL from the glass but it really looks that way.
