Recently bought car, but the main key doesn't open the trunk?

I have a 97 Eclipse RS. I received just the main "drivers" key. Anyways, the key doesn't work for the trunk. The key goes in, but doesn't turn to release the trunk. Is there some kind of trunk lock on our cars that I'm not aware of? Well, where can I get this remedied?

You were given the valet key which opens all locks except trunk and glove box. Ask previous owner for the master key or call Mitsubishi about how to get it (probably need vin and proof of ownership).
