So I've been trying to break in my new build in the evenings on local roads after work for a few days now, everything has been running great so far. My question has to do with my transmission. It has an ACT 2600 kit installed, w/a new clutch disk. I have nothing to reference a stock GSX's transmission characteristics as this is the first time I have owned one and driven one. Thing is, it seems like its not a normal transmission in that it is not "sluggish"? All of the manual cars I have driven have always had some sort of sloppy feel to it while mine seems to feel very precise? or tight? I was wondering, what are the characteristics of a stock GSX transmission compared to a rebuilt/upgraded trans? Aside from an obvious marking somewhere on it, would there be a tell tale sign in the way it works to differentiate?

Thanks for the replies,

Sounds like maybe you're just used to driving sloppy, worn out transmissions. It should be tight and have precise shifting. Maybe the shifter bushings were redone. That can help make things feel tighter. Sounds like you're good to go. Enjoy! :D
