Rebuilt Motor

ok so my car is in the shop right now and i get it back on tuesday my question is...since im a 420a n/a and my rebuilt kit i bought is low compression 8:8:1 will it affect anything on the motor since there is no forced air on the engine? ...because i was planning on putting miles on the motor and then slap on a turbo..will my car run like shyt?

Lower compression will make less power (about 4% hp for every 1 number difference) and may slightly lower your gas mileage.

Very interesting that you would actually ask this question. I just recently rebuilt my 420a and installed 8:8:1 wiseco pistons and eagle rods, and was very curious as to what it would do to my overall power. I am doing the same thing with building the motor and rackin some miles on it before i boost. I have been driving the car now for about 100 miles on break in, so no more than about 3 grand before shifting gears and there is a little loss in power and it does burn a little more gas than normal but overall not that big of a difference. And it is a sacrifice that i am willing to make till i hit that 3000 mile mark and my motor sees a 16g or 20g.
