I have fully rebuilt the motor and I am running into a problem now

Sorry bro, some people just don't like to read the whole thread before posting hehe. Anywho, have you got any updates or what?

Oh I read it, but he has a problem, and can't find even where the rope starts much less ends (figuratively speaking). I don't know all what he did, weather or not he messed around with wiring or not. I have been keeping tabs on this thread since the get go.

But, since I can't read I don't know what to tell you.

No updates yet. I am going to be sending the ECU of for rebuild in a day or two and that should take about a week. I am hoping once I get that back and plug it up it runs great. I am also in the process of changing my tensioner on the timing belt as well. Hopefully, that will be over soon!

link---X did not say you can't read. He was just commenting on what most people do, which is not read the whole thread.

I appreciate all the individuals who have commented and made suggestions. Everything should be evaluated when there is an issue like this.

LOL @ link hehe....I'm just an e-thug, so don't take anything I say personally LOL

Ok, I guess I'm gonna wait until you get that ECU back and test it out...otherwise you're gonna have me in full technician diagnostic mode, and you best get ready to start using a meter and checkin stuff because my pet peeve is just throwin random parts at a car without knowing for sure it will fix it.

X--the ECU was buzzing, which it is not supposed to do. Whether or not if it is causing the main problem, it should not be buzzing when it is running. I am not trying to be rude, I completely understand your point and I cannot afford to keep throwing new parts at the car to get it running correctly. I am just hoping that because the ECU is buzzing, it is causing a problem.

I do appreciate your help though!

No no no...

I wasn't saying replacing the ECU was a bad move, the buzzing is definitely a no-go. I was just saying in general LOL, but don't mind me anyways, I'm just the e-thuggin douche LOL.

Oh, well I sent it (ECU) off today and should have it back within 2 weeks. I am hoping to have the car ready to go when I get it back. We are going to drop the tranny to change the rear main seal, because it is leaking. I would like to have the RM seal done before I get the ECU back.

I will keep you updated once all that is completed.

Thanks for the support! The car has been down for a year this week! We started pulling the motor a year ago to do the rebuild and it has taken this long. I am really looking forward to driving the car again soon!

We got the rear main seal changed, transmission is back up, and the new or rebuilt ecu is in. The car runs a lot better, but it is having trouble idling (just does not want to stay on.) We are going to do a smoke test on Thursday to see if there is a leak somewhere.

I was able to take it out tonight, really just to drive around the block. It was a great feeling to drive it just for a little bit. It has only been over a year!

We are hoping to resolve all issues with it on Thursday!!

Alright, after last night we did not find any significant vacuum leaks for the car. The only thing that we question is the map sensor. The box (not sure of the techinical term) that is tied into the map sensor that tricks the ECU into thinking that all it is receiving is vacuum was taken off. How important is the "box"? When it was on it was either confusing the map sensor or the map sensor was messing up on its own.

The idle seems to be a lot better, but the gas mileage went out the door. I drove it to work this morning (10-15 miles) and it went through 1/4 tank. Anyone know if the map sensor would cause that?

Thanks!

If we're talking about the same "box" then you're talking about a FCD (fuel cut defender). Your profile says you got a 95, so no, you don't use the FCD. It shouldn't be going through so much gas. I don't see how you would go through so much gas with a 12:1 FMU, 255lph, and stock injectoers...

I swapped the MAP with one from the junk yard and the car seems to be running a little better.

I need to get an alignment and get the exhaust fixed, because I am running a different turbo now.

Other than that it seems to be good! Minor tweaks and adjustments and it will be all set. Thanks for the help along the way!
