ok, i recently just scored on picking up a stroker motor 2.4 the problem is that the vavles hit the pistons.there is marks on 2 pistons.the marks are like 1/4 deep. the timing belt jumped.it was built like 6-9 mo. ago. now the question is,would you replace only the pistons or redue everything? it has magnus I beam rods. supposely.acl bearings and all arp studs.and now the other questions is, would you use regular .20 over pistons like for a 2.0 motor or is there a special 2.4 piston i need to get? please any help would be appreciate. thank you

If you rebuild it you need to get stroker pistons, they are built so they will work with the 100mm crank and not hit the valves. Thats usually when you use a 100mm crank in a 2.0 block which is a 2.3L. If its a true 2.4L then it may be a 4G64, you need to find out what block it is. Not sure how the 2.4L's work, because I know someone using a mitsubishi expo motor and had to use a thicker head gasket so the valves would not hit. But thats a different motor. Research my friend and find what block you have and then find out what parts you need to make it work.

If it has long rods, you would need to get custom pistons from Marco at Magnus, they're about $700. Can you get pictures of the piston damage?

If the pistons are out get pictures of the side showing the location of the wrist pins.

If indeed the engine has long rods the pins will be up into the ring grooves.

heres the pics of the pistons in the block still. i have not taken anything apart. piston 1 is ####ed and 4 is a lil rugged.

You need to tear down the entire engine and have it rebuilt. Those are Magnus pistons, there's no way to tell if you have long rods without measuring them.

ok, i think i am going to take it to the local shop to see what they charge to rebuild it. i know they do go work. the shop is dogbox. cool people, nice doing business with. i just got my tranny from them and they said, they could rebuild the motor for me.
