Well, the time is here for a rebuild for my 95 GSX. I was trying to get opinions on what is necessary/unnecessary for supporting a 20g..and yes all the proper fuel delivery/tuning mods will be done before installation. I know the stock bottom end is capable of handling around 350hp but while im at a rebuild, why not go all out? So heres what i was planning..

6 bolt block w/ 2g head
JE pistons (.020) and rods
ARP head studs
ARP main studs
Cometic Head Gasket
HKS Cams 264/272
3g lifters
Bronze Valve Guides
New Engine Gasket/Seals
1mm oversized valves (retainers necessary too? i dont planning on revving higher than 7300)
Balance Shaft Removal
Decked Head

**Is an angled valve job or ported head worth it? Is tehre anything else you guys think would be a good idea to have and get out of the way during the rebuild? Thanks :thumb:

Clevite Bearings i think is what most people use. Everything looks fine. Make sure you clean up your engine bay before putting back the engine.

Will this be an everyday driven car? If so id reccomend going w/ Wiseco Forged pistons instead of the JE's The work better w/ the expansion rates in a street car. Also are you using 1G bid rods or a forged rod? Scat rods are an excellent choice for a great price rated at 600+ HP. I like there design better than the eagle h beam rods. also ive heard alot of negative things about the JE pistons and that eiter Wiseco or Ross or Venoilia is a better piston, but if its an everyday car, then id reccomend the Wiseco Pistons. Just my .02

Is it really worth it getting aftermarket pistons? Or, should i just have it built back to specs? Stock internals can handle a 20g properly tuned right?

Dont mean to be bumping, but ive had a huge change. I'm gonna be running the evoIII 16g instead. Is it necessary to buy aftermarket pistons, or should i just keep it all to spec? From what i've seen people have been just under 300hp and i know the stock block can handle that, so is it worth it? :dsm:
