Rebuild question

My engine was rebuilt 18k miles ago, before i got the car. I looked up the stock 1/4 mile and 0-60 times, and it was about 16.5 and 9.0 in that order. I was driving around with my friend on our driveway (I have a long driveway, about 150-200 yds) and i went all the way to one end, and drove and shifted as fast as I could (without worrying myself) and got up to about 50-60, and it didnt feel like it took that long. My question is, could the rebuild have made any difference on how fast it is? I mean, don't get me wrong, I know its a N/T. But my friend said it was more like 7 or 8.. and it just 'felt' faster than that, as in that 9 seconds went by quickly if it was. I don't know if thats some common kid thing or not, thats why I posted in the newbie section. Thanks.

If you didn't add anything special in the rebuild, I don't see how it would make your car that much faster. My guess is that before the rebuild, you were running slower than what the stock 1/4 time is for your car, just cause your car wasn't at it's best. After the rebuild with everything clean and what not, it feels faster cause your engine is performing better.

Yeah, but I didn't have my car before the rebuild. Otherwise I would agree with you.
