I completely rebuilt my 420A engine over the summer and started it up for the first time today. Engine sounds fabulous, but as soon as I start it, the RPM's start right off at 2.5K and climb from there up to 4.5K steadily while at idle. Sounds like the Indie 500 in my garage right now.
I'm thinking that the problem is in my vacuum lines. I wasn't exactly sure about two or three of them, I just connected them back where they seemed to naturally flow. I know several of them are right, but the ones toward the passenger side kinda threw me off.
The throttle is correctly adjusted, I know the problem isn't there. PCV valve is in place (it's brand new).
I'm wondering if anyone has a good diagram of all the vacuum lines? Pictures would be great too if anyone has any links. I've done a lot of searching trying to find pics of tube placement and hose connections. Not really finding what I need though. I can post some pics later, my girlfriend has my camera right now.
