Rear upper knuckle bushings

Ok, like most 2g owners my rear upper knuckle bushings took a crap. I have a ball joint press. my question is will i have to take the whole assembly off or can i just use the ball joint press to press the old ones out and new ones in on the car?

I burned my old ones out and used a dremel with a cut off disc to cut out the metal sleeve.

^ What he said, it is the easiest way to do it. I did a master kit polyurethane install and that is the best way.

Sorry I know this is an old post but my mechanic told me I need to replace the rear upper knuckle joints and the bushings. Just looking for some advice on whether or not it's worth the cash and if so where can I purchase the joint. Or if there are any better options
