Rear Strut ?..

Hey guys,

I have a question. I was replacing a rear strut on my friends 99 gsx and my neighbor came over to talk to me just as I was putting things back together, so I could not remember which way the strut goes back on. Now to clarify I want to know about the bottom mount, there is a slight flare inside the bottom mount of the strut. Does that go to the outside of the car or inside. Outside I am guessing, so you can get the strut back on the bottom mount alittle easier but I just want to check.

No one knows. I guess I will take the other side off and see. I will let everyone know just encase this happens to someone else.

Just crawl under the other side and check it out! My cars on jackstands w/o suspension (getting some Tein coils) or else i could help you out more!

Yea, I'm going to check today.. Only thing is the flare is on the inside of the mount so I have to take off the bottom mount and feel the inside of the struts lower mount. No big problem just takes alittle time thats all.

Just checked the other side and yes the slight flare in the bottom mount of the strut goes to the outside of the car...
