My rear driver side wheel hub is bad, I mean screeching bad. I'm trying to order what I need and I have the option between just the bearing assembly or the whole hub assembly. The hub is over twice as much and I'm asking can I just order the bearing assembly? Will I need to get it pressed in or what? Also anyone have a recommendation where I could get these at a lower price. Its like 90 for the bearing assembly and 240 for the hub. Thanks

Well first off, if this is an AWD, GOOD LUCK! This is not an easy job. I would recommend getting the hub assembly. I had to replace mine and it was hard enough just getting the hub off. What made this hard for me is getting the CV shaft out. And after i got that out, i ended up having to get a CV axle shaft and that was next to impossable to get a rear CV axle shaft for a 95 awd talon with a locking differential. I had to get a used one and a used one cost $125. Also i dont know where you are getting your parts but i got the hub assembly from advanced auto for $130. What was weird is it cost like $200 everywhere else, even from a different advanced auto from a different city. Maybe those guys just liked me and gave me a deal, I don't know...

GOOD LUCK...

You CAN just replace the bearing/race assembly if it didn't eat into the hub. I had to do that once on my 2g GST and it wasn't any fun. Just to be safe I would replace the whole hub though that way you don't buy the bearing and need the hub.

I just did mine about 2.5 weeks ago. i changed just the bearing assembly part. All you need is the right tools. I had to buy the right one after I pulled the bearing assembly off the rest of the hub one of the bearing races stayed on the hub. All you need is a puller the one that looks like 2 u's clamped together and pull it off. But that is the easy part getting the whole hub off was a pain. But it is definately doable.. But truthfully if I were to do the other side I would get the whole hub.. Hope that helps.. TTY
