the rear differential has 3 mounts ,, one in the top front to maintain pinion angle,, which is available,, not the propblem. the problem is the two bushing that press into thne rear subframe and support the rear upper pumpkin. these prevent twist from occuring. I have tried to get the inserts from the dealer but they are available which the entire subframe,, which costs 600 dollars ..

this question was asked before but wasnt answered, im having the same problem and i dont want to buy a new subframe. Anyone know if there is an aftermarket company that makes these ?

im going to try to fill it with window weld over the weekend....ill post the pics

Do you know what the part # is for the top front mount? I noticed when I turn my driveshaft the rear diff at the pinion will move up and down.

I got under the car tonight and took a good look at the rear end, and it is in fact the rear bushings that bolt into the crossmember that are bad. The dealer can't find them in the parts diagrams either.

What are some good web sites to get aftermarket bushings? Maybe they would have something...

I uploaded the parts diagram below. The part numbers are:

MB948078 Upper Crossmember Bushing $4.66
MB948077 Lower Crossmember Bushing $7.00
MB242260 Self-Locking Nut 12mm

That isn't the bushing I need. What I need is the bushing that 34993D bolts into. It's the back side of the cross member. That bolt goes through the bushing and bolts into the rear of the differential.

I was at the Dodge dealer last night staring at that diagram for 15 mins! He was trying to sell me the front mount which I don't need...

I looked in CAPS and I think I found it.. Part # 34395B.

Doh! Yes, I suppose that is the drain plug. :( I guess I'm going to have to try to make something work.

You could always talk to Gary at the Mitsubishi Graveyard.

I'm sure he has that bushing and would sell it to your cheap.

Contact Martin @ taboospeedshop.com Last time I spoke with him I was working on a metal bushing to replace those. My "funding" ran low and I wan't able to continue on the project with him. I was going to drop my whole subframe to take measurments. He has the tooling to make bushings out of eurethane or metal. He should be able to help you out.

Or just buy the energy kist for the front subframe and replace them with those bushings ;)

Are those an exact fit?

I wont swear to it but my source says they are. If not for destroing them in the process I would have checked when I put my kit in. They look very similar and you know how manufacturers like to re-use parts if they can get away with it. Those front kits arent that much compared to the whole kit. Last time I checked I think you could buy just the subframe kit for a little over 50$

pressed, rusted, coroded, and other wise stuck. You'll have to destroy the factory ones to get any good measurments.

Im having the same problem with my friends 95 gsx. We tried window seal but that broke off from the torque applied to it. We have contacted alot of different companies including dealers and the only thing you can really do is order a new crossmember with them in it. The bushings are actually pressed in there with a special tool and We cant find any where that carries them or could install them.

i was infromed by a friend that a wrecked gsx was at the local junkyard so i took out the subframe...50 bux :D yes that is a valve cover also..i got 3 new ones

Somebody measure those. They may be the same size as one of the ones on the LCA's

Oh wait terrible said that already.

Also check out the EVO VIII and check the size because..

Man, I'm jealous! What's the diameter of the bolt hole in the middle? I might make metal bushings so I don't ahve to worry about this again.

How does one know that bushing has gone bad and what are the negative effects?

I just checked the EVO in CAPS and it doesn't look like the EVO bushings are available seperately either.
