My car locked up at like 70 on the highway and smashed my rear diff and snapped an axle. I replaced both rear axles and the rear diff..(along with all the bushings) I got everything all back in and put the fluid in and when I put it in gear and try to drive forward the car wont move and feels as though the rear is hung up..any suggestions? Ive been assured the diff I bought was in fine working order what else could it be?

is there anyway I can test it?

Throw the car in neutral and try to push it. If you can't then it's probably the t-case.

Remove it and try to spin the shafts, if you can't then it's definite.

Take it apart and clean it, put in new seals and fill it with oil.

Try spinning it again. If it spins, reinstall it.

Check for leaks and top it up if necessary.

it was brand new only like a 1.5 years old...so there was no leaks I got it from jacks...what kind of damage is it to get it rebuilt if needed...

Depends on the damage. Mine just needed to be cleaned and rebuilt with new seals.

Nothing was broken.

is there a seal kit you can gt to do yourself...i have a spare that is leaky. I know its $350 to get it rebuilt from jacks just a pain since the thing was brand new. Im guessing going from 70-0 in an instant..theres going to be a little more required then just seal replacement...:(

Maybe, maybe not. You wont know until you get in there.

You can find the seal part numbers here: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-forum/356379-need-awd-trans-seal-part-numbers.html

Well i picked up the inpuit and output seals from extremepsi and im just going to throw those on the older tcase i had as a spare for now..evebntually ill send in the brand new one to get rebuilt....hopefully the tcase is whats binding.

^^ Just a thought, but maybe your should find the problem before throwing money at it. I know I've wasted a bunch of cash needlessly. I know the seals are cheap but it will add up in the end.

Good luck.

Well now im screwed...took the t-case off to find this

I have another t-case so im not so worried about that but rather about the damage that was done to the shaft...

Talked to jacks transmissions said you can replace it but a new one is like $260...My questions are:

-Has anyone replaced this/is there a vfaq (How difficult is it)
-Can it be done without removing the transmission?
-Can a used 23 spline output shaft be found? (LOL)
