Rattling/Popping from Tranny Only in 1st

I have a Jacks 2.1 awd tranny that just started to make a popping or clicking sound (almost like cv joints), but it only does it in 1st gear. Goes in all gears flawless as usual. Had it put on a lift today to assure it was coming from the tranny. What problems I'm I looking at here?

Maybe your throw out bearing is starting to go. Mine rattles so bad I can't stand it. It usually goes away once she gets warmed up. unfortunately the only way to replace it is to pull the whole transmission out. Maybe i'll save up to have the transmission rebuilt
& do it tben. Hope that helps.
