Yes sir, there is a few discussions on here what he should do with it, i.e. museum, we all pitch in and donate it to a certain member (not sure who exactly but something has me thining Luda?). Stuff like that. Or just for a hardcore enthusiast to buy it and keep it the way it is but still drive it you know?
 
My friend has a 99 Spyder convertable I believe it's a 99. Converted to AWD and a 4g64 engine and 16g turbo. and it's manual trans. The only one in the whole state. VERY rare. Many mods. sooo beautiful! Can you convert a 97 Mitsubishi Eclipse RS to AWD? hard?
 
Yes and yes. You would have to convert it too 4g63 as well.

Might as well just buy an allready awd one at that point. And the 2g dsms are a bit easier to convert to AWD even without being a spyder. The 1g dsms are signicantly different. Just open the trunk on a 1g fwd vs a 1g awd. Allright nuff said.

There isnt not anywhere near as a big a differance between 2gs. If any. The hardest part of the 2g awd swap would be rounding up all the parts. Unless you can weld some exhaust hangars, or drill and cut.

anything can be done but it isnt worth it

what you can do is a 4g64 out of a 3g eclipse or galant of same year and do a evo head swap and call it a day

That would be prohibitively expensive. You would need an Evo ECM, Evo wiring harness, Evo or 3g/Galant Tranny, quite possibly custom cv-avels, custom mounts, Stroker Pistons which are quite a bit more expensive for the evo builds etc etc


You would be better off with a basic 4g63 swap. It can be done, especially if your a good fabricator, and have a clean 420a shell it is a bit more feasible. The hardest part is fabbing the mounts.

Yes the factory lightwieght 1gs DSMs are rare. Not like Fittipaldi Prototype race, but still hard to find. Does yours not have A/C or Power Steering either? I heard of a guy that had one. It was a 94 if I recall. Now power options, no rear wiper or wing, the lightest a full interior car could.

And the Fittipalidi Prototype is not worth $15,000. Maybe it could have been, before the tool started to modify it. But he actually DRILLED into the firewall to mount a fuse.

It's like having the only 1967 Camaro CHEROKEE SS-RS Convertible. And then swapping in a 454 from a Corvette to make more power.
 
I think I've seen a thread like this before, and the winner was the 1g awd Laser autos?

I use to have a awd laser with auto trans when I was younger, and one winter I broke the tie rod so I let it go to a junk yard :ohdamn:. And then I found out what I had and tried to buy it back and it was gone. I was pretty pissed

what you forgot to realize is the 3g 4g64 is reversed....and the evo head AFTER evo 3 the b4g63 or watver...is reversed as well...it bolts up like our 4g heads would to a 2g 4g64 block...so why would i need a tranny and axles and all that bs?
 
I'd have to say the 1g eclipse/talons with no rear wiper and non-electric windows are up there as well. I had a blue 2g and they are definatly rare in turbo form.


yeah i agree i just picked up a 93 talon light blue no rear wiper with crank windows and a moon roof
 
i own a 94 laser rs awd gold edition i bought for $200 with 2 6 bolt blocks in the trunk and none under the hood, it is currently in the under construction mode but will be left mostly stock or easily reversed due to the rareness of the car:cool: also if any knows the real # of 94 laser rs awd that be great i know in total 94 had 5284 lasers but i dont know the #s of base, rs, rs turbo and rs awd turbos



p.s. for the ugly gold rims they came on my gold model as well they will be removed and stored

Personally, I think it would have to be 2g black on black GSX! :cool:

It would make sense that the TSi AWD would taking the cake. As far as the color scheme, I have no idea. Not that well versed with the TSi.
 
In Austria Mitsubishi sold the non-turbo 1G GSX, and in Germany they sold the targa-version of the 1G (shown up on this page). The copper and blue 2Gs weren't that rare in Europe.
 
I have a 2gb eclipse fwd turbo thats a pretty forest green where there is no oxidation at with black interior and grey seats i haven't seen another one like it ever, just a rs once at a shop with this color.
 
the rarest i have ever seen was my uncles, because i have never ever seen another like his and he as well, which is why i think he had to buy it for 10k completly stock many many years ago, it was a grey smoke silver 1gb 1994 eagle talon tsi awd with black leather interior. from my understanding those are rare, because like i said i have never seen another like his and he as well let me know if this is true or not because some people have said its a rare but i would like everyones opinions on it.
 
oh haha well forgot to mention another reason is he baught it in 2000 with like 10k miles but still i me and him have never seen another like it, strange also i heard there were some 2g talons that were white, but the lettering for tsi and talon in stuff were in blue i never seen one or heard if it was true,

It's true, I just picked up a nice 2gb talon front and rear bumper for $60 and the rear is white with blue eagle and esi lettering.
 
but is it rare? because i have never seen one and as far as i know you can only get the blue lettering if it was a white 2g talon and talon only
