Had a (former) friend send this to me like, 13 or so years ago as both a gift, and a joke(because I'm an auto guy through and through, and at the time RAILED against m/t cars). Just found it by digging through boxes today. Hmmm, guess I'll need to find something to put it in now. ;)

Also: jokes aside, if you know how to install this thing I'd love to know. It's not threaded and didn't come with any inserts. I am honestly tempted to weld a M10x1.25 nut on the bottom of it, weld the hole shut and drill/tap it, or just find a rubber insert I can squeeze it down on(it has three allen headed bolts in the bottom that can be used for that purpose). But if anyone has any better ideas or has any experience with this knob and how you installed it, would be awesome to hear!

Randomly reviving this. How fitting.

It's been so smokey here the last few days due to the northern forest fires -- super long spans of absolutely no rain. April showers? May showers? I think it rained twice.

Canon R5 with RF 100-400 F5.6-8 @ 400mm, 1/320s, ISO 100. No filters.
You could see the sunspots with the naked eye, if you have good visual acuity. That's how dim the sun was.

Meanwhile in Quebec it has rained a measurable amount 87 days out of the last 150. I'd gladly share some LOL.

Lots of fires on both sides of the border right in the middle of the continent too, it's pretty crazy

Smoke is actually reaching Florida from the Canadian wildfires. It's mixing with Sahara dust storm remnants and causing hell for allergies down here. Making everyone feel like their sick.

That's insane.
I dunno, looks like you have your own fires giving you smoke, but those ones in the north were particularly nasty last week. Then we had a tiny about of rain. Not surprised some of that got down there being so high in the atmosphere and dense.
Hopefully more rain soon

Back in 2023 it was Quebec that was on fire, made some neat backgrounds for photos, no filter on this photo

We can smell the burn here in Chicagoland along with the haziness from the smoke over the last week. Lasted about a month or two last year, im surprised you guys have anything left to burn this year.

I've never had much of an "eye" for photography but I took some pics I was pretty proud of this weekend while on a little road trip in my 911.

dang bugs

One of the more common compositions is to create a leading space, to give the impression that the vehicle is moving to that spot, even though it's standing still.
For instance, in your first shot, positioning the car a little more to the left in the frame and leaving a bit more "negative space" on the right, this tends to give a more appealing photograph. Of course, it depends on what the locale is. If it's a brick wall on the right, it won't work so much :p

With that second photograph I see some nice rolling hills. The car positioned at a 20-30 degree angle towards the camera near the right side of that building "moving" rightwards with the hills further on the right, that could be something. I have no idea what's on the right side of that building, though

On the whole, not bad what you got there and definitely worth taking them! The contrast is really nice

I used to be sort of an amateur photographer. I say used to be because I haven't really snapped anything in a long time. My ex-gf was a big influence because she was always encouraging me.

That being said, this is one of my favorite pictures I ever took. This is from many years ago, but I don't think I've ever topped it.

Taken Today with an IPhone SE. Wish I could say he was mine but he’s not. He is a Family members. He is super chill. Had to take him out of the house today while we had some work done . So… we went to the park.

This was supposed to be a nice composition from Haleakala on the way back down but I failed to notice the cloud and once you see it.. well, the face and the feet start to appear too.

I borrowed by brother's mini 2 a few years back and it was my first time using one.. man does it give you so much freedom and a fresh perspective
Definitely rivaled a helicopter, though the heli got you a lot further but isn't as cost effective. Although on a heli I could bring my 45mp kit and not have just 8mp from 4K. Anyway, nice @jdxnc
