2G Random/multiple missfire

Need some advise, i have a 99 eclipse gsx. The only mods are a k@n intake filter and a 6 puck clutch swap. Then i'm driving down the hight way with the cruise control on at like 65-70mh, the car will start missfireing and throw a CEL. I scanned it and it said multiple/random missfire. If i take the car out of gear and let the engine rev down it goes away till the next time it comes. Seems to be random when it does it, any clue anyone?

When was the last time that you replace the plugs and wires?

check plugs and wires first and make certain they are gapped right. Check air filter and O2 sensor, each of these things are an easy solution.
