Ran completely rich right??

Alright, well a couple months ago I had my rebuilt motor blow on me within 5,000 miles of the rebuild. Spun all for rod bearing due to oil starvation (that is what King Bearings said), the engine always had oil in it checked it constantly.

Today I finally started to take it apart and this is what I see when I pulled the head.

That would be caused from running rich right?
This doesn't make much since to me because I was averaging 34 miles to the gallon.

What cause cause this? I am a little worried about the motor I pulled from the junk yard because I used everything off this motor and put it on that one that makes it run.
all the sensors, the intake with injectors and fuel rail, ECU, and header.
I don't want my current running motor to follow the same path of this one.

That looks more like 205,000 miles on it, unless you were burning oil like a freight train and just didn't notice it on a new set of pistons after 5000 miles you should see nothing more then just slight discolouration, especially if you got 34 mpg on the average. I hope you didn't pay for something that you didn't get.

You would have been pig rich to carbon the pistons that much in 5k miles.

You should have seen black smoke. A soot smudge on the back bumper, your eyes should have watered at idle if you stood behind it.

Some sensor like the ECT is/was bad, fuel injectors hung open.

Fuel mileage should have been about the same as late 60's to mid 70's V8, about 10-15mpg

Now being that rich, I can understand the rod bearings failing, from gas mixed in the oil and thinning it out.

I can not see how you were getting 34 mpg.

Lol that was very funny reading.

But I was the one that rebuilt the motor and swear only 5000 miles are on it. It only smoked a little if I idled for over 5 mins and that took a few miles to stood but wasn't thick smoke. Oil wasn't thin ever, when I Did the oil change and when I took the motor apart.

You checked the oil constantly, how often did you add oil? how much?

Any engine should burn a tad bit of oil between oil changes.

What was the ring gap on the oil scraper rings?

I can't remember the gap but it was in spec I know that much.

I think it was a little less than a quart of oil within the 3000 miles other than that not much at all. Of course it burnt oil when after the rebuild but die down a lot after the first 20 miles.
