ok well i have to post in the newbie section but i have done my fair share of research on raising boost. im going to purchase a mbc soon and was wondering exactly what is minimally needed for running 15psi. i have my boost guage but is dsmlink really a must? im def. not a cheapo ricer but i am kinda strapped for cash so all info is appericiated...thanks

You should beable to boost 15 without anything but a logger to watch your timing. There is no way how to tell how much you can push without a logger. Just start low, log and keep raising untill you cant. The 2g bov leaks past 15psi so you wont want to go above that. GET A LOGGER with you MBC

No, DSMlink is not needed to up the boost on your T25... as a matter of fact, I think it would be unpractical to spend that much money on such a tuning tool with as few mods as you have. I see you already have an aftermarket boost gauge and a 1g BOV... thats good. You definitely need those things to safely up the boost. I would also suggest getting a data logger. Also, I wouldn't set the boost beyond 15psi on the stock T25. Honestly, its just not worth it. The puny T25 really can't hold much more boost than that anyway and you'll also be shortening the turbo life. I know its hard, but just try to keep your insatiable boost cravings in check until you can upgrade to a better turbo.

Well, I'd say get the logger, and raise the boost as high as you can before knock. The T25 may not HOLD higher boost very long, but you may hold it higher if it peaks higher. You're in Mississippi, so you probably have 93octane. In which case, you should be able to make 17psi without any issues. I personally have mine currently with NO BOOST CONTROLL. (though I can tune with DSMLink) As far as killing the T25, it may be harder than some think. Mine's still kicking (bastard) Besides, if you think you're gonna get some kind of resale value out of it... You might as well kill it if you plan on ever upgrading. Anyway, you should be able to push it to 17 without any issues or additional fuel tuning. But for safety's sake, a datalogger would be quite beneficial. That's why I have DSMLink on a stock turbo. Figured if I'm gonna buy something to monitor the engine, I might as well only buy it once.

If you really want to feel more boost, get yourself a new Downpipe.
Also, inorder to run 17psi on a T-25, it is highly recommended to rewire your fuel pump to get a more consistent voltage to the pump so that it pump a little more consistent fuel pressure.
