Hey guys i have a really weird problem with my 1g, one day my radio just shut off and wouldnt turn back on, so today i pulled it out checked the fuse on the back after checking the fuse by the kick panel and it was good so i checked for continuity on the radio ground. it was good so i checked the constant 12v to the stereo and it only has .5v, the ignition switch to the radio has power when i turn the key, but when i pulled the radio fuse and checked for power the constant 12v had 12v of power again so i plugged back in the fuse and tried to turn on the radio and nothing, at this point i noticed that my interior lights arent working also.. im lost anyone ever have a problem like this?

the circuit diagram shows two common fuses powering your radio and interior lights.

one fuse is what you've checked, 10A for the radio.

the other is also a 10A fuse that you should check.

it is on the lower right of the kick panel fuse box, the last in this row of fuses, two fuse to the right of the 15A stop lamp fuse.

based on the manual, the fuse # 19 powers the following:
- 4-speed automatic transaxle control unit,
- dome light, door-ajar warning light, foot light, ignition key illumination light, luggage compartment light,
- MPI control unit,
- radio,
- security light,
- ABS relay

hope you get it...

Or, could have a simple fuse that has opened up, but it doesn't look like it has opened. They can get hairline cracks in the solder joins within the fuse itself.

Also, the blades of the fuse isn't making the good connection in the socket-been there and done that with tweeking the blades of the fuse to make a tighter connection in the socket.

Just something stupid that has to happen, yet a simple fix if one knows where to look at.

I've had the alt 80a fuse blow under the hood and that caused my radio interior lights and heater blower not to work. It should be a simple fix just check your fuses

+1 on the 80 amp fuse. Check it.
