I've been wanting an eclipse for awhile and found 2 that I was interested in but they both have problems and I'm seeking advice on which route to take. The first is a 97 spyder and supposedly the motor locked up when they were on the way home from work. I've never replaced a motor in an eclipse before but would definitely wouldn't mind doing it. The second is a 2000 GT and it was just wrecked in the front end and when a new radiator was bought it wouldn't fit. I'm concerned that that could maybe be damage to the frame? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

800-1000 depending on its shape, if the interior is in good shape $1000 is fair, but if there's huge dents everywhere I would go $800.

I've seen shells go for 500 bucks, spyders are getting harder to find so what he is asking for it is cheap if its in good shape.

ok well the paint is fading some and some of the clear coat is coming off and it has a few small dents. the interior is great though but he painted it red. he does have a new black top to go with it also though

Get body checked from a auto repair shop if its been wrecked you dunno what damage its in. I wouldnt buy it. You can buy one my shells .:D

Do get the body checked, make sure nothings tweaked, usually you can tell, look under the car, inside door jams, knock around on the metal to see if its been bondoed. Check the radiator support bar and along fenders. Just go threw it with a fine tooth comb.

As for the painted interior. The painted surfaces can be repainted. Or plastidiped. I'm a installer for plastidip and it works amazing on interior peices. And looks almost identical to the oem black. Go buy a few cans, throw them in hot water, prep the surface with rubbing alcohal, shake and spray. Wax it with a spray detail wax after 3 hours of cure time. Apply wax weekly. Boom amazing interior.
