Radiator fan problems, anyone used the Mishimoto fan shrouds yet?

My 2g dsm has been overheating so bad that I couldn't drive more than 15 miles before i had to pull over and wait for it to cool down. Made it home today and checked everything out in the garage, my stock fans have not been activating at all and are completely shot.

At this point I'm thinking of upgrading the radiator and fans all together. I ran across the mishimoto radiator and hose kit for my car at a decent price, but I saw on their website they have bolt on fan shroud kits that come with slim fans for the 1g and 2g eclipse. Anyone use these yet?

I'm thinkin about gettin it all at once so I can get the full package and not have to worry about replacing this stuff in the future. I know plenty of people who vouch for the mishimoto radiator and hoses so im not worried about that but has anyone had personal experience using them?

I have no experience with these ones but the flex-a-lite fan and shroud combo is a good one to use as long as you don't mind trimming the heck out of the shroud to make it fit on a Mishimoto radiator. If you were to use the fal fan and shroud combo on a stock radiator, I'm sure you would still have to trim a little bit but not what you have to trim in order to get it to bolt up to an aftermarket radiator.

I wish I would have found this set up before I found and ordered the fal fan setup.

Are you sure both of your fans are shot? It could be a bad relay. Have you checked those yet? Also, if you car still has A/C, do the fans turn on with the A/C on? Have you tried putting power directly to the fans?

Thanks a lot for the replies guys, I checked out the flexalites and there just too expensive for me right now. I got a quote for everything and could actually get the radiator, hose kit and shroud for less than the flexalite fan setup so I went ahead and ordered everything .

I had checked the relays and the fans, i dont know how long theyve been broken but there was a fair amount of corrosion in the mechanism so i'm gonna say its about time to get some new ones .

I dont know about the cx racing radiator it looks like a steal but ive never heard of them or know anyone who has used their products. I tried calling them but there was no answer and I havent gotten a response to the email I sent them either. I tried contacting them b/c there isnt any warranty information on their products and if im going to put the money out im not going to buy something and lose my investment.

anyway the parts are on the way and we'll see how it goes, I'll keep you posted on the install, thanks guys!

My intercooler is CXRacing, and it's pretty solid. I'd buy another intercooler from them. I can't say anything about their radiators though.

Overheating while moving probably isn't a radiator situation. More likely suspects are the thermostat and the water pump impeller.

ill have to check the water pump this weekend, i did replace the thermostat already so im assuming its not that. Thanks for the help guys, I'll keep you posted when the parts arrive and see how it is

How much did you pay for it all together? PR sells a very nice radiator kit for cheap. It works very well. I have it on my Talon.

It costs the same as the kit from PR after you include the $55 shipping charge. Plus you get the pleasure of great customer service.
