I have an ebay catback, not exactly that brand, but my fitment was perfect, and true 3" catback, no bottle-necking in the muffler either.

Im looking to replace my exhaust(apexi n1, which the muffler blew out on me) Im looking for a 3 inch, preferably that goes underneath the axle to replace the " up and out" angle i once had. LOL

You get what you pay for, and considering you have an n1, I would just go to the exhuast shop and have them weld a new muffler on it.

Or, for possibly the cheapest route you can take, pick a flow master muffler and resonator, sounds nice and deep, take it to the exhuast shop and tell him to bend you a 3" cat back out of stainless. Or I think they have cheaper one called aluminized steel. It is steel with a aluminum coating to prevent rust.

It will last a good 5 years. Even if you live somewhere where they salt the roads.

im going to just get a whole new exhaust, apexi muffler is 220, plus shipping, and my exhaust is hacked to hell anyway. i want hks but they only make 2.5 inch.

Dude, buy a cheap muffler and have a shop make the piping for you. Your gonna spend more money in the end and not end up having exactly what you want.. Make your life easier.

my oh my..

it looks like you didn't bother to search.

to add, that first link is crap. it is inferior compared to the other ebay exhaust. it is only 2.5" and it is not a full SS.

And to the person who recommends rewelding his apexi, the reason this thread was even made is because the OP was yet another victim of his $500+ brand name going sh!t when 100s laugh in comparison to their ebay catbacks that are all well given the same duration. and by design the expensive apexi is not even a full SS. On top of that has a huge restriction that necks down in the muffler. Again also proven, by reading threads.

Hell if you don't trust "ebay", then get "megan racing" its ebay with customer service if you want to have a better piece of mind. I've read about people buying ebay downpipe/exhaust and it has a megan racing stamp on it. They are all made from the same damn factory overseas and the "brand names" add $$s to it.

You have to look closely at the ebay ads to make sure you purchase the correct one. The photos should indicate the "better" ones.

I guess if you are adamant about getting it under than the axle, then you have a reason for argument. The ebay one goes over. And as you are aware, apparently only Thermal is the only prebuilt one that is designed this way. But is $300-400+ more just for a catback worth it for that route.

As far as a custom exhaust, a lot of 2g owners in that thread I linked abov, including myself, have purchased a 3" downpipe, and 3" catback with silencer, full SS, MANDREL BENT 2.5" inlet on the downpipe to match most basic to mild setups, for $200-250 SHIPPED FOR EVERYTHING.

Now if you go to a muffler shop, it will probably cost the same, if not more, for an inferior setup. prob aluminized steel, crap welds, not mandrel bent. Yes you can have them build a nice one, but we all know to even match the specs of the ebay ones in terms of features, would cost triple the price. The last time it was better to go to a muffler shop when our only options in a catback was a $500-700 piece from apexi, hks, greddy, and the downpipe was $300. But now $200-250 shipped for a full SS, etc etc (see above) that has been proven.

The resources to insure you that there is no problem with the ebay setup is all there, hell i summarized the entire huge close to 100+ pages i just requested you to refer to..

Also one thing, your current brand name exhaust that got all crappy on you, has what.. a 2.25" inlet?

my pics i posted is somewhere on that thread, but the neck down on some of the ebay downpipes catbacks are not as bad if should be considered at all. The ebay downpipe i illustrate in the pics shows it ends AT 2.75", then the catback starts also at 2.75", not nearly as bad as that horrible 2.25" that the apexi starts out with and other brand name systems, to bandage that you will have to go to a muffler shop to cut it off, the thing many old school Dsmers had to suffer back in the day.

Hope you realize the answer that has already been there all along.

I LOL every time I see someone rant about bolt on exhaust systems.

You guys should mod just 1 saturn.

Then realize your gonna have to make just about everything you need.

I still vote for going to a muffler shop and having them make you an exhaust that meets your needs.

megan racing is a good product and makes a full 3 inch catback. it appears to me to be under-axel
Megan Racing

They also have a full 3 inch catback with over axelMegan Racing

They also have 3 different downpipes! Yes 3!. 1 for awd, 2 for fwd

2.25 inlet/outlet straight through testpipes

they also have exhaust manifolds (with T-3 turbos only)

and EVERYTHING is all stainless steel
