Well i have been having really bad knock problems with my 1g. Im getting the occasional phantom knock but im getting 20+ counts at wot and thats what really matters. Once I put in race gas all my knock went away. So im assuming its probably fuel related? Anyone know why the racegas would solve the problem? Thanks

A higher octane count such as 104-114.. is much less prone to detonation, which is what knock is, detonation.. Race fuel will eliminate detonation because it burns much more cleaner than ordinary fuel. So in other words, dump some race fuel in, turn the boost up, and go raise some hell!

i had the EXACT same problem. i dont know why it was doing it, but o well.

Well it would be nice to run on race gas all the time but its a tad too expensive.

What im really looking for is what would cause the knock on pump gas but not on race gas? Should I try checking things in the fuel system? The way it sits right now is I cant push the car past 40% throttle without getting severe knock.

stupid question but do you have all the supp. mods for the 16g? maybe ur heatsoaking ur intercooler? maybe u dont know how to tune? who knows. Just run race gas man:thumb: :dsm:

Yea tuning and supporting mods arent the problem. Im running a 16g on 14-15psi , stock injectors, 190lph fuel pump, and a dss fmic. It has to be something else. Anyone think it could be possibly the injectors or fuel filter? I have no idea even where to begin looking?

What are you using to tune? Also check your injector duty cycle. It might be time for some 550's :thumb:

having the bigger injectors and not running lean will help you from knock but its not always the answer

Thanks everyone for your imput. I turned up the boost to 13psi and no knock. I guess its just a combo of 91 octane and a 16g. Time to put in the new injectors.

A little off topic here but has anyone tryed using a stock 2g intake pipe w/ 2g mas on a 1g? I really dont want to buy a new intake pipe for my 2g mas.
