I'm getting ready to order DSMLink for my automatic 2G and one of the chip defaults is for Launch RPM. I'm thinking that this setting would not really apply to me since I have an automatic. After reading-up on this feature, it sounds like this feature reacts to RPM's as well as the position of the clutch, which is something of course that I don't have. So I was planning to select "NONE" for this default value. I was wondering if I'm on the right track in my thinking? Thanks alot.

Actually you can use it. I have an automatic and I have my launch RPM set at 3000 RPM (stock TC). It works in conjunction with the speed sensor, so when you're stopped at a light you can floor it while holding down your brakes in order to build boost. As soon as you start moving, the ECU defaults back to the normal rev limit.
On manual trannys, there is a separate wire included in the kit to wire with the clutch switch. Don't know how this works though, don't need it.
Both the launch and rev RPMs are adjustable through the software but you can pre-order the chip with default RPMs that you desire.

Thanks for the info Budget90GST. I think I'll go ahead and order DSMLink with the default Launch RPM set to around 3000 rpm as well. This seems like a pretty handy feature. Hopefully someday there will be a version of DSMLink for 2G's that can retain its settings even if the ECU loses power.:)
