Hey guys i'm going to be ordering some maintenance items this weekend to do an oil change and trans fluid change. I just need to know the size of the crush washers I need to to both oil and trans fluid and how many? Do i need them just for the drain plugs or for the fill plug on the trans too? So yeah I just need # and size? Thanks

I just reused the washers on the fill plugs and I dont recall any washers on the drain bolts and i dont have any issues with leakage.

I believe you're supposed to change the oil drain washer every 2 changes.. however I've never changed it, and it doesn't leak yet... the oil drain is a 17mm so I imagine it would be an M10, the tranny drain is 24mm probably M12.

Ok thanks guys, i'll just run to the hardware store before i do it just in case. Thanks for the sizes, thats exactly what i needed.

There is not a crush washer on the manual, don't know about the auto.

The oil pan drain bolt crush washer should be changed at every oil change. A crush washer by nature is crushed to seal, once crushed and removed, it actually turns into a POS that has the potential to not seal anymore............I mean come-on, they're not expensive, probably find the money in your couch cushion for the purchase.

But hey, everyone's different.

When purchasing OEM Mitsu filters, you'll find a crush washer for the oil pan drain bolt taped to the outside of the box.

That was easy,

Andy

Well that sucks as the dealer here in Houston must take them out and sell them as it's a separate item............but then again, it's less than a quarter.

(I buy 4 filters and 4 crush washers at once, along with 4 o-rings for my aftermarket oil cap)

That's interesting Jim. I wonder if SBR includes them. I know my local dealer does at no extra cost, but they're raping me anyway.

my oem filters never came with any.. jerks! I know it's not expensive, that's not the issue.. whenever I get under there to do a change, there's no oil leaking, and I only tightened the bolt to spec.. I don't really see a problem.. I've only changed the oil in my 2g once though... refering mostly to my 1g.. which I changed 4 or 5 times in 3 years I had it. My 2g's not a DD.. I don't drive anything daily 1400km (875miles) in 4months since I've been home
