Quick FMIC install question

Actually a couple

1) does the TB/jpipe require gaskets or anything or is it just bolt up

2) in the install manual they keep reffering to the bypass valve which I am assuming is the BOV?

1. Both the TB and j-pipe do have OEM gaskets but in my experience black RTV holds better and its a lot easier to find than those gaskets.
2. The bypass valve is the BOV, you are correct.

Just remember that if you use RTV that you take into account the PB&J sandwich effect. When you put the bread down on the sandwich the jelly mushes out the sides if you put too much on, same thing applies when putting on RTV. Apply a THIN coat around the edges with your finger, it will hold boost and you won't RTV running out of your TB/j-pipe inlet.

I used gray RTV on my TB to IC pipe and they were practically welded to each other after 6 months, I had to use a chisel and a hammer to pry them apart! Rohner is right though, that gray RTV doesn't play around since it does hold better than the black but it might be a bit of overkill.
