Quick EGT question

I had my new gauges installed today and I think something might be wrong with my egt gauge. After the car is warmed up what temp should it read at idle?, throughout idle it didnt even read 50degrees and driving with alittle boost it wouldnt go above 200F.


shouldnt it be alot higher?. The gauge is tapped in the manifold.

Make sure the probe hasnt backed out of the manifold, other than that it sounds like something might be wrong. Did you buy the gauge new (itb)? If so, Id take it back. Mine runs ~500-520 idle and 700 cruising 70mph.

ya bought it bran new yesterday, auto-meter cobalt, I aswell had it installed by a local shop that does alot of work for me.

I would take it back and show them, if our cars ran that low we wouldnt need radiators

do you think I will have to pay for the removal and install of the new gauge?.

A-its either the place who sold me the gauge and they should foot the bill, or
B-they place who installed them, they should not charge me for labour.

Im going back there tomorrow. I paid enough to get them installed and the egt aswell as the boost dont even read right....
