Hi, i just got a great deal on a 4g64 short block for just $70. everything is std. The previews owner told me it came from a 88-92 galant 2.4L SOHC. The block says 4g64 and its a 6bolt. I want to bult a 2.3L stroker not a hybrid. I also have 2 more 2.0L 6 bolt blocks.
What engine bearings can i use?
Are those ACL Race Bearings for 6 bolts 2.0L will work on my 100mm 6 bolt crank?
Im looking foward wiseco 9.0:1 and eagle combo I know I need to buy both for 1G but a friend told me to buy them for 2G, they will bolt on a 6 bolt crank but with a 22mm pin is better than 21mm pin. I know is pretty acurate but i need opinions.

Tell me if im right, to finish my stroker block i need:

2.0L 85mm bore 4g63 6 bolt block
wiseco 9.0:1 std bore 22mm pin piston
eagle rods for 2g with 22mm
4g64 100mm crank from my galant sohc 92 block
ACL race bearings for 4g63 6 bolt
ARP main studs for 6 bolt
ARP head studs for 6 bolt
1g 4g63 oil pump
1g 4g63 water pump
6 bolt fidanza flywheel

You can't use 7 bolt rods on a 6 bolt crank. I don't think you need to worry about the 21mm pin either. The 6 bolt 4g63 and 4g64 bearings are the same.

Also you don't want 2.0L pistons. You want 2.3L pistons which raises the wrist pin 6mm. Also do as GVR4592 the 6 bolt rods are nessisary, I also wouldnt be worried about 21mm wrist pins...people have put MUCH more power to these motors then you are going to.

Long story short, the 7 bolt rods is too thin and therefore creates to much rod end play. The 6 bolt rod is 1.115" wide and the 7 bolt is 1.038" which is .077" difference and rod end play is spec'd at 0.0039-0.0098.

Wow I really didn't understand that. Can you reword that so we can understand it better.

sorry its just that english is my second lenguage. I have a non turbo 4g63 block and it dosent have the thread to bolt the knock sensor, the 4g63 turbo block has it. I want to know if my 4g64 2.4L sohc engine from 89-92 galant has that hole where i can bolt a knock sensor.

Any available bolt hole that it won't bottom out in, and has the same thread pitch will do. Because all that the knock sensor does if have a piezo crystal in it, that when detonation occurs pressure is exerted upon the crystal, and voltage is produced.

Ok i just read that the block is the one to be mmodified (plugged) but i also found that only 7 bolt 4g64 sohc needs to be plugged all 6 bolt 2.4 sohc and dohc are the same and dont need oil holes to be plugged
is that true?
