First of all my spelling and grammar suck ass so please feel free to correct not clown......

So i have a 98 Eclipse really slow ( RS) and my friend has a 99 GST his buddy gave him a 20 trim turbo and manifold thats been ported. He is giving me the stock turbo off of the gst I was wondering what problems I will run into. First thing i see is looks like the motor is reversed I.E. Timing belt on opisite side ETC will the turbo rotate and still function to fix this matter? second I am buying another eclipse "has a blown Head" And plan on fully builing it sleeved all the good shit but I am wanting to run maybe 5lbs of boost i do have a boost controler that he will include will my motor safeley handle this short and about a year from now?

Thanks in advance!!

I wouldn't even mess with that GST turbo i would get a Hahn race craft kit for your 420a and his motor is reversed because its a 4g63 motor. i mean you could use the turbo but by the time you buy all the parts (Ex.) fuel pump, FMU, turbo manifold, Downpipe flange, 3" exhaust, FCD, intercooler, intercooler piping, BOV, and so on it would be a lot less money to just buy a Hahn kit.

I'd say get the kit, you need a lot more than just the turbo of course.
I don't know a whole lot about 420a's but I would imagine it could safely run 5lbs of boost, though I think the set spring pressure on those wasegates are around 7...So that'd be the minimum even with a MBC.

Actually its a whole lot cheaper to piece a kit together than to buy one. The t25 is a small turbo but will work on the 420a. You need to do a lot more research before you decide to tackle this project. Good luck

Just my 0.02, sell the rs then buy a fwd turbo 1g. fwd's aren't as pricey as the popular awd's, then you can spent probably 1/2 what you would have to get probably the same result

+1 on piecing together your own kit. Those hahn kits are pretty expensive. I know people who have pieced together kits for less than 600 dollars(thats many months of searching and finding good deals) and i would say the 420a would be safe up to 8lbs from what i have read in the past. good luck!

420a turbo manifolds are flanged for T3 turbo's - you'd need to either make a MHI flanged manifold, or use an MHI-T3 adapter to use the T25.

It is far cheaper to put your own kit together, but if you don't know much about turbo systems and are unwilling to learn, it's advised to purchase a kit like Hahn has assembled.

The 12:1 FMU and 255HP pump used by most people when they first boost their 420a is only good for roughly 8psi. (this will vary a psi or two depending on the turbo you use.)

Well The one with the blown head is also a Gst and someone stole the turbo and manifold so with that i would be able to transfer the fuel system that i will need plus the comp correct and should be good to go? I know the acuater is bad on the one he is giving me too
