Question on stock Exhaust

What is the stock exhaust size for a n/t 95 talon? I searched,(prolly not hard enough) but did quite a bit n couldnt find the right size...I wanna go a lil bigger whats the best size?

The stock exhast piping threw the Cat. is 2 1/4. I would just leave that stock because its already big enough. If you were going to go 2 1/2 i would think you would lose back preasure and HP. Bigger exhaust is more specificly made for Turbos.

Dumb question I know. But I'm about to order the QTP exhaust cutout and need to know how big the stock exhaust piping is. I think its around 2.5", but need to know if its is, or if its 2.25". Thanks

it about 2.25" to 2" (the ranges vary in many different sizes) pressbent

the stock exaust is not press bent its manderal and its 2 inch, i know this for a fact because i made a staright pipe to take the muffler out. this of cource is on a 1g, my friends 2g looked a little bigger to me though.

Sorry I meant to answer this. No it's not 2.5". I had 2.5" on the car and it was noticably larger than stock.

well i have a 93 GS and justgot 2.25" catback exhaust done on it and was wondering what the stock diameter was. i was wondering if 2.5" would be better or if this is enough for N/A. i plan on putting on headers if i can find them as well as a hi flow cat. so 2.25 for all that or 2.5? sadly it crush bent ATM.

Hey im not really sure what the stock exhaust is on the gs but whatever it is its small, i have 2.5 inch exhaust on my n/t from the cat back, and i have a pacesetter header that i got at a local shop here but you can get it from seffects.com i think is the name or dragracing.com, but if you get it pay a little more and get the hotcoated one because it looks much better and pacesetter isnt exactly the best quality, but here in the next few months my eclipse will be turbo, im taking turbo parts from the turbo eclipse and putting them on my car, if you want any info on this then you can private message me...good luck with everything...later

on my car, it was 2".. but i just did a full exhaust, and i got a header off ebay for about 140 shipped.. dont go with pacesetter, i did research, and have heard they aren;t the best quality. I got the ones off ebay, they are SSautochrome headers and they are stainless steal. they change colors after awhile, but it doesn;t look that bad. a lot of the guys on this forum have them, and they all like them. I got custom 2.5" piping from the cat back for about 160. I would go get those ssautochrome headers, a highflow cat, and 2.5in piping. get a good muffler too.. i hear good things about the magnaflow ones

stock piping is 2.25. i upgraded mine to 2.5. big difference, and it is really necessary to go to 2.5.

I highly reccommend the Magnaflow mufflers, I had a local shop build me a cat back with 2.5 inch, and it sounds awesome (2g by the way).

Interestingly enough, I was having my header and a new cat put on a couple of days ago and the cat-back is indeed 2.25 inches stock from the factory, not 2" as others in the forum have mentioned.

thats really weird then, cause i just put on a new header, and the downpipe is 2" wide.. even the inlet, and the outlet of the old cat we took out was 2". When you measure the diameter of a pipe.. do you measure the diameter of the inside of the pipe, (where all the exhaust fumes channel through) or the diameter of the pip as a whole?

I know what you mean. Pipe measurements are all OD (outside diameter), but I understand what you're getting at. It seems like everything TO the cat is 2" (including my new header, but everything after it is 2.25". We measured it from the cat back to be sure and it's bigger than 2" diameter.
